The Location
History
Stockmar Airport had been in Doggie Stockmars’ family since gold was being mined on the land. Following his death, Earl Small Jr. purchased the airport in 2000. From 2000 to 2005, Earl Small renovated the runway accumulating more than 378,000 cubic yards of dirt and rock where sections of the airport were relocated, resurfaced and re-leveled to its current 4500′ paved runway with 25′ buffers. Today this airport is home to a close community of pilots with a variety of planes.
This airport is one of less than 35 private operating airports with an FAA approach, the only within close proximity to a metropolitan city over 5 million people.
On The Inside
On the inside of the airport – we have a luxurious lounge to relax in. You can have drinks, sit on the couch, and relax as much as you’d like. We also have beautiful scenery surrounding the airport – something that can be taken in with fresh air whilst sitting on our porch. Need to fill your plane with gas? Relax while you wait. Need to park your plane and then wait for a ride to the nearest hotel? Come on in.
